Field Honey
Robert Field is a second-generation commercial beekeeper and former Chairman of the Bee Farmers’ Association. After leaving school in the early 1980s, he joined his father in the family business, and he has now been beekeeping for nearly 40 years.
His hives are located at various farms and estates between Swanage and Salisbury Plain. The hives’ south-coast alows the bees to forage nectar and pollen from early summer to late autumn. The close proximity to the stunning Isle of Purbeck and the uncultivated Salisbury Plain, used for training of the British Army, offers large swathes of heathland and traditional wild-flower meadows, which benefit the bees and many other insect species, as well as the honey, of course!
