Husband and wife team, Luke and Suzie Hutchinson, are true innovators in the world of bee farming.

Producing honey has always been the cornerstone of their business from when it began in 2015, but a shared love for Champagne and Suzie’s doctorate in molecular nutrition led them to challenge themselves to create the mead equivalent of the fizzy French classic.

And so the Northumberland Honey Co. Wildflower Sparkling Mead was born, faithfully using the méthode traditionelle with full secondary fermentation in bottles and all hand riddled (not like some of those french classics!).

The honey they harvest is a real treat too. With over 200 hives dotted along the South Tyne and Irthing valleys, their bees follow the course of Hadrian’s Wall, crossing two counties in the process.
